About

Ian Harrison is CEO of A2IM (American Association of Independent Music), the nonprofit trade organization that serves as the central voice for independent music in the United States, representing over 700 label and associate members. A2IM advocates for the independent sector on Capitol Hill, supports labels through business development and mentorship, and works with international partners on the global conversations shaping music's future, including AI, streaming reform, and the changing economics of the industry. Ian also oversees Indie Week in New York City, the United States' largest annual gathering of the independent music industry, and the Libera Awards. The independent sector now accounts for nearly 40% of all US recorded music by ownership. Before A2IM, Harrison spent over two decades at Hopeless Records, where he joined early in the label's 30+ year history and helped shape it into one of the most recognized names in alternative music, with over 15 million records sold and artists including All Time Low, Avenged Sevenfold, Sum 41, The Used, and Neck Deep.
