Description

Many NGOs are facing the challenge of assessing if and how they should implement new technologies, including AI, to support their missions. In a collaboration of experts of NGOs (e.g. WWF and the Red Cross) and AI researchers (e.g. from HIIG, HeiGIT) we developed the Tech for Good Adoption Guide which is a practical guide with different modules that support decision makers through the important considerations for the adoption question. This workshop will introduce the different modules of the Adoption Guide and invite practitioners to test them. The modules include a Conversation Guide to assess the tech’s fit for a specific mission, a reality check for a chosen use case and finally a Buy-or-Build-Matrix to decide if a solution should be developed by the organization or purchased externally. We are inviting NGOs, mission driven organizations and civil society stakeholders who are thinking about new tech projects (including AI projects) to get to know and test the Guide in a hands-on session.
